Corporate Profile Report

A Corporate 'Profile Report' or 'Search' is a report generated from the relevant government office which outlines current details of a corporation. Including: complete legal name and previous names, registered head office and mailing address and the directors names and addresses.


Business Name Search Report

Similar to a Corporate Profile but provides details on an unincoprorated business name - sole proprietorship, partnership or corporation trading name.


Certificate of Status/Good Standing/Compliance

A Certificate of Status/Good Standing (or equivalent) is a single page report outlining the incorporation, continuation or amalgamation date and the current status of the corporation and is certified by the relavent government authority.
A Certificate of Compliance is an equivalent report issued by Corporation Canada for a compliant Federal Corporations.


Section 427 Bank Act Search

A search under the Bank Act will determine if a borrower (company or individual) has signed a particular document that provides the bank the first preferential lien on the goods or equipment. The Bank then registers a 'Notice if Intention' to take the goods as security, to perfect its security interest.

PPR - Personal Property Registry Search

Searches conducted under the PPSA will reveal if a seller or a previous owner has obtained a loan against used goods or vehicles. The search results will provide details on the debtor name (borrower), secured party (lender), the length of the agreement and may contain information on the specific goods/collateral and the amount.
Searches can be conducted on a Corporation or Business Name, an Individual (with or without the date of birth) and VIN - Vehicle Identification Numbers.

Writs of Execution/Sheriff Search

An 'Execution' or 'Sheriff' search will reveal if any Writs are issued against the subject debtor in default. If a creditor has taken the appropriate litigation steps and fails to collect moneys owed by a debtor in default, a judge may issue a Writ of Execution. Once a judgement is issued and the debtor does not make payment a writ can be registered at the local Sheriff's office.


Litigation Search

A search conducted at the Provincial or Territorial Court an a individual, business name or corporation to determine if they are a party (plaintiff or defendant) to an action. A search summary report is provided which will outline the details of the findings.
Copies of court documents are also available upon request. Court copies can take any where from 5 to 10 business days. Case Histories and Court screen prints are also available from some courts.


Ontario Bulk Sales Search

An Ontario Superior court search to determine if an affidavit under the Bulk Sales Act has been filed by a seller relating to the sales of large quantities of stock or assets and equipment of the business outside the 'regular course of business'.
The searches are usually conducted in the jurisdition of the seller's head office address or location of the assets.


Local Bankruptcy Search

A search conducted at the Provincial or Terrritorial Court to determine if an individual or corporation has made a filing or application under bankruptcy. A local search is not available in all parts of Canada and it is recommended to conduct an Insolvency Name search for accurate results.


Insolvency Name Search

A search conducted with the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy Canada which will reveal all bankruptcies and proposals filed in Canada from 1978 to date; a;; private and court appointed receiverships from 1993 to date; and all petitions registered with this office.
