NUANS Name Searches
Centro Legal Works Inc. is proud to be a registered search house with Industry
Canada!
What is NUANS?
NUANS stands for " N ewly U pgraded A utomated N ame S earch".
It is a registered trademark of the government of Canada and
the software and data are the property of Industry Canada. It is a
large computer program maintained by Industry Canada used to
compare proposed corporate, business or trademark names with a database
of existing and proposed corporate, business and trademarks. A listing
of the most similar existing and proposed names will be produced in a
five-page report, which includes corporate names, business names and trademarks.

How it works
NUANS reports are valid for 90 calendar days and are required for corporation
filings in Ontario and Canada. With each request we will conduct preliminary
name searches on the exact name as well as variations to determine the availability
before incurring the cost of the report. The preliminary search results
will be provided to the client to assist in the name decision process. Once
the report is ordered it is available in approximately 1 to 2 hours. Centro
will also provide a NUANS summary report outlining what was searched and
an opinion on its availability. Click here to view a sample of the form.
Please refer to the Terms and Conditions on Nuans Name searches.
